Traffic Impacts from City of Fruita Projects

Peach Street Closure Near Aspen Avenue

On Monday, April 29, 2024, Peach Street will be closed near Aspen Avenue for asphalt patching. The closure is anticipated to last one day with the road open Monday evening. 

S Elm Street Closure Near Reed Park

S. Elm Street will be closed from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Monday, April 29 and Tuesday, May 1. The road will reopen each day after 4 p.m. 

Apple Street Closure from Aspen Avenue to Pabor Avenue

Apple Street from Aspen Avenue to Pabor Avenue will be closed on Monday, April 29, 2024, for asphalt patching. 

Starting Fall 2024 - Upcoming 19 Road Construction Project (Continued)

The City of Fruita is planning utility and roadway improvements along 19 Rd. from Highway 6&50 north to J.2 Rd.  The improvements are expected to begin after the irrigation season in early November and last until summer 2025. Learn more about this project on the 19 Road project page. 

Traffic Impacts from Non-City Projects

Rose Creek Subdivision - Ottley Road Closure (Continued)

The closure on Ottley Avenue between 18 Road and 19 Road is expected to reopen the weekend of April 27, 2024. Contractors are working on paving the road and anticipate finishing on Saturday.

The contractor for the Rose Creek Subdivision has milled (removed the asphalt surface) the existing road and installed utilities, storm sewer facilities and curb, gutter and sidewalk along Ottley Avenue. The recommended detour route is south on Pine Street to J.2 Road or J.6 Road, east to 19 Road, then north on 19 Road to Ottley Avenue (K Road).

19 Road Closure for Copper Creek Subdivision May 1 - May 3, 2024

19 Road, north of the canal or south of J Road, for reference, will be closed for three days. This closure is for sewer work related to the new Copper Creek subdivision.
