Colorado River

Ruby and Horsethief Canyons
On this tour you will float through 25 miles of towering red sandstone canyons; you will see huge boulders and Precambrian schist, and you will visit pictographs from the Fremont Indian culture.
Blue Heron Run
This 9-mile trip takes you through some spectacular scenery on the Colorado River and the Canada goose flyway and includes a series of small rapids. If it's hot, there is time for a refreshing swim in the river. The trip lasts three hours.
Westwater Canyon
Wild and historic Westwater Canyon is considered to be the best one-day whitewater trip in the area. This 17-mile full-day trip through western Colorado and eastern Utah combines the serenity of the upper canyon with the heart-thumping Class III and IV rapids in the lower canyon.

This three-day trip takes you past historic sites along a 44-mile section of the Dolores River — including the Bedrock store built in 1898; abandoned copper, gold and uranium mines; and the remains of a 19th-century wooden flume hanging from the canyon wall.

40 miles / 2 or 3 days. Named after the first European explorers known in this area, the Escalante-Dominquez section of the Gunnison River offers a gentle, out-of-the-way trip through brilliant red sandstone walls where you will see petroglyphs and soaring raptors.
