The Administration Department includes the City Clerk's Office and Financial Administration. The Department includes a staff of 5 full time employees and 1 part time employee. Margaret Steelman serves as both the City Clerk and Finance Director.  The City Clerk's office maintains official records of the City, conducting elections, administering licenses and serves as Clerk to the City Council. The Finance program provides the accounting, budgeting, utility billing, payroll and investing for the City. City Meeting Calender A meeting calendar for all City Boards and Commissions, including the City Council is posted monthly.  All meetings of the City are open to the public. 

Business Licenses The City of Fruita requires that every person engaged in business shall obtain a business license from the City of Fruita.  In addition to the standard business license, the City also requires special licenses for pawn brokers, liquor establishments, dance halls and coin operated amusement devices.  The annual fee for a business license is $25. Please complete the business license application and return it to the City of Fruita with the appropriate fee.

Liquor Licenses A liquor license and occupation tax is required for anyone in the business of selling alcoholic beverages. Please contact the City Clerk's Office for additional information on obtaining a liquor license in the City of Fruita.

Fruita Municipal Code The Fruita Municipal Code is a codification of all the ordinances currently in effect in the City of Fruita.  These are the local laws adopted by the Fruita City Council.

Fruita City Charter The City of Fruita is a home rule City and is governed by the Fruita City Charter as well as local ordinances and state laws.  A City Charter is the City's Constitution.

Elections The next regular municipal election for the City of Fruita will be held on April 3, 2012. 

City Council Agendas The Fruita City Council holds its regular meetings on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Fruita Civic Center located at 325 E Aspen in the 2nd floor Council Chambers.  A workshop is scheduled for the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Fruita Civic Center. All meetings are open to the public.  However, public input is not accepted at the workshop session. If you would like to have an item placed on a City Council agenda, please contact the City Clerk's Office.  Agenda's are posted on the City's website by 5:00 p.m. on the Friday preceding the Council meeting.

City Council Minutes Minutes of City Council meetings are posted on the City's website when completed.  This is usually within two weeks of the meeting date.

Boards & Commissions There are a number of Boards and Commissions of the City of Fruita.  Members serving on these Boards and Commissions are selected from interested citizens of the Community.  A list of all the Boards and Commissions along with any current vacancies and the boards and commission application to serve on a Board or Commission is available.

Budget Document The Fruita Council annually adopts a budget for the City of Fruita.  The budget sets for the work program for the City of Fruita for the upcoming year and includes operational expenses, capital projects and debt service.

Recycling Service Request Form Recycling services are provided to citizens of Fruita at no additional charge. Recyclable materials are picked up every two weeks on your trash day based on the service address. A copy of the latest Recycle Calendar can be downloaded here.  A Recycle Service Request form must be completed to sign up for these services.

Senior Citizen Sewer & Trash Reduced Rate Application The City of Fruita has a reduced rate for trash and sewer services available for residents meeting both income and age eligibility requirements.  A copy of the application should be completed and returned to the Finance Office.
