This is an envious commodity only dreamed about by most other cities. Just think of the enormous amount of cost saved by not using treated water to keep the Fruita area green and beautiful. The entire City of Fruita uses irrigation water that comes primarily from the Grand Valley Irrigation Company. The City distributes approximately 350 shares(2,358,000gallons per day) during the summer of untreated water and distributes that water to citizens just for watering lawns, trees, and flowers. At the present that equals 69 taps. Numerous subdivisions within the City also rent the transportation system for their irrigation water used in their private irrigation system.
